Hydra, The Hand and a mutant group known as the Dawn of the White Light formed an alliance in order to execute their plan. The plan was to kill and resurrect super heroes under their control. Wolverine was found by S.H.I.E.L.D. who took him in and tried to heal his serious injuries. Wolverine broke free under Hydra control, stealing SHIELD defense plans and escaping the Helicarrier.
