This book compiles 6 of the new issues of the “What if”. Despite this being new, it has what ifs that involve old storylines. In fact 4 of the 6 stories involve the origin storylines of the heroes.

What if Karen Page had lived?: Some say, Daredevil’s true love was Elektra but it was really Karen Page. She like Elektra was killed by Bullseye when he throws Daredevil’s weapon into Karen’s heart, killing her. But what if she was a bit to the left or the right, and the weapon puntured a lung instead of her heart and she lives instead of dies? How will Daredevil react differently when he finds out who was behind everything?

What if General Ross became the Hulk?: Ok you know the whole story with the Hulk. Bruce Banner goes and saves Rick Jones’ life and turning him into the Hulk. But what if Gen. Ross saved Rick Jones’ life causing him to become the Hulk? Well this story follows that. Kind of different approach with different results. Most of the main characters from the series die. This was pretty good. Good action with a twist with it being Ross instead of Banner being the Hulk.

What if Jessica Jones had joined The Avengers?: Before this comic, I had never heard of Jessica Jones. But it turns out she fought the Avengers because she was being controlled by a villian. After the battle she was asked to join the Avengers to which she turns down. But what if she did join? Some romance here and there and one of the biggest events in the Marvel universe who would lead to something even bigger was prevented all because Jones was there.

What if Professor X and Magneto formed the X-Men together?: Great concept but was a little weird until near the end. The X-Men really dont form until the end, Prof. X and Magneto pretty much just own a school and do side missions with Wolverine and Mystique (they are lovers) as the leaders (instead of Cyclops and Jean Grey). Cyclops and Havok do appear at the end as villians working with Sabertooth for Sinister.

What if Doctor Doom had become the Thing?: This story asks what if Dr. Victor Van Doom was on the space shuttle with Reed, Susan and Johnny instead of Ben. So Doom becomes the Thing and still becomes a villian but for a different reason. We do know where was Ben (wont say) and what happens to him. Very good story, everything about it was good.

What if Aunt May died instead of Uncle Ben?: What if Uncle Ben had went out to buy milk on that faithfull night and Aunt May was killed? Thats the story, because Peter wouldnt have the responcibilty of taking care of his Aunt, he becomes dark and does things he would never do (wont say what). Again great story with a darker twist all because they were out of milk that night.

Good book, with the exception of certain stories. Perfect for anyone who collects these comics!

What If…? is an American animated anthology series created by A. C. Bradley for the streaming service Disney+, based on the Marvel Comics series of the same name. It is the fourth television series in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) produced by Marvel Studios, and the studio’s first animated series. The series explores alternate timelines in the multiverse that show what would happen if major moments from the MCU films occurred differently. Bradley serves as head writer with Bryan Andrews directing.

Jeffrey Wright stars as the Watcher, who narrates the series, alongside many MCU film actors reprising their roles. Marvel Studios was developing the series for Disney+ by the end of 2018, with Bradley and Andrews on board. It was officially announced in April 2019. Marvel Studios’ head of visual development Ryan Meinerding helped define the series’ cel-shaded animation style, which was designed to reflect the films and take inspiration from classic American illustrators. Animation for the first season is provided by Blue Spirit, Squeeze, Flying Bark Productions, and Stellar Creative Lab, with Stephan Franck as head of animation.

The first season of What If…? premiered on August 11, 2021, and ran for nine episodes until October 6. It is part of Phase Four of the MCU. A second nine-episode season is expected to premiere in 2022. The series has received generally positive reviews, with praise for the voice acting, animation, creative storylines, and scenarios, although the episode length and writing received some criticism. A Marvel Zombies series, based on one of the What If…? episodes, is in development.
