I never expected Remender to have the villains that Venom/Flash Thompson has fought since issue #1 form one deadly group. The battle against the Savage Six is like Spider-Man’s first battle against the Sinister Six, where he has to face each villain one after another in order to protect his loved ones. This volume also reveals the identity of Crime-Master; there were a number of clues leading up to the big reveal that long, long time Spider-Man readers may be able to guess his identity. Flash Thompson has been a really interesting protagonist. He really harkens back to the early Spider-Man, where he struggles with having lead 2 distinct lives and letting down the people in his personal life. Collecting VENOM (2011) #15-22.
