Oversize books and cartoon characters are a great combination! This book is nearly 15 inches vertically, with many full page pictures. The introduction is a wonderful history of early comic strips leading up to animation and then the TV era. The index is well done as well as an appendix of production studios and characters of each. In short, a very complete pictorial reference book.

Bonuses include actual comic strips, comic book pages, songs, film scenes and character art work. Not all the cartoon characters here will you know. Each cartoon character page includes a little biographical data as well. The book is extremely sturdy and was originally sold for $9.95.

For the Disney chapter they have a Mickey Mouse drawing Mickey Mouse through the years. It is said to be especially drawn (?for this book). If it wasn’t for the Fritz the Cat chapter, the readership would be all ages. Although TV favorites such as Yogi the Bear are included, it’s only the one’s who have also appeared in the cinema.
