Max Brooks’ Extinction Parade Optioned by Legendary TV! Writer of World War Z and The Zombie Survival Guide lines up another story for on-screen adaptation. APRIL 24, 2014. Max Brooks has penned more than a few zombie stories, including World War Z and The Zombie Survival Guide. Now, Deadline reports that Legendary TV has optioned yet another Brooks zombie story, the comic series The Extinction Parade, for development as a television series. They’re bringing Brooks in to help develop the project as well as write the series’ pilot episode. The horror series, published by Avatar Press, is set in a world where the human population is dwindling because of a zombie plague. While humanity diminishes, the vampires in the world are starving and they decide to fight back and try to get rid of the zombies. So instead of just zombies, it’s vampires vs. zombies. Brooks only took the idea to Legendary, stating, ““I only brought the idea to one company, Legendary, because they do the kind of quality work of which any writer would be proud”.
