Young farmboy Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) and adventurer-for-hire Han Solo (Harrison Ford) have successfully rescued Princess Leia Organa (Carrie Fisher) from her cell aboard the Empire’s battle station, the Death Star, but now they find their escape route blocked by Imperial Stormtroopers in the fourth chapter of the Star Wars saga, A New Hope. Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope, originally released as Star Wars, is a 1977 American epic space opera film written and directed by George Lucas. The Falcon is caught by the nearby Death Star’s tractor beam and brought into its hangar bay. While Obi-Wan goes off to disable the tractor beam, Luke discovers that Leia is imprisoned on board and, with the help of Han and Chewbacca, rescues her. After several harrowing escapes, they make their way back to the Falcon, but Obi-Wan sacrifices himself in a lightsaber duel with Vader.
