Background information
The contents page states that a pin-up of Lara-Su can be found in the issue. However, the actual pin-up is of King Shadow from SU#7’s cover. The reason for this inconsistancy is unknown.
Silver appears on the cover art, despite not appearing in any of the stories.
Despite what was advertised, the issue is actually missing two instalments of the M25YL storyline. “Prelude” is omitted from the beginning (with the recap directing the reader to the Sonic Universe Vol. 2: 30 Years Later graphic novel, where it is featured as a bonus story), and the penultimate chapter of the original arc, “Father’s Day”, is left out. The reason for this isn’t clear, but it’s likely due to the book not having enough space, and that “Father’s Day” was the least relevant to the ongoing plot.
At a total of 14 individual stories, this issue contains the most stories of the whole Super Special Magazine series so far.
Coincidentally, the very next issue would the be the issue to contain the least stories.
