The Marvel Universe is massive. There are thousands of characters from different realities, timelines, spaces, and places, all sourced from nearly 80 years of magnificent Marvel material. But across all of Marveldom, female Super Heroes have proven to be some of the most amazing, dynamic, powerful, sharp shooting, heavy hitting characters around.

Hellcat: Patsy Walker had long idolized super heroes and after given the chance of a lifetime became ‘Hellcat’. She is one of Marvel’s oldest characters, dating back to her ‘romantic’ comic books in the 1940s. She has served on several incarnations of the Defenders and the Avengers.

Firestar: Trained to be an assassin with her microwave-manipulating mutant powers, Firestar instead grew to be a popular hero. A key former member of New Warriors, now member of the X-Men.

Black Cat:Former cat burglar Felicia Hardy became a crime fighter when she became romantically attracted to and involved with Spider-Man. Felicia has the ability to instill “bad luck” around others – this comes in handy when fighting crime!

Photon (currently Spectrum): After being exposed to extra-dimensional energy, Lt. Monica Rambeau gained the ability to manipulate all energies of the electromagnetic spectrum. She has gone by many code-names over the years whilst utilizing these abilities as a crime fighter. Monica has served alongside the Avengers in various incarnations and operated as their leader for a time.

Patrick Zircher is a comic book artist and penciller. His work is largely for Marvel Comics on titles including Iron Man, Thunderbolts and New Warriors. He also did a considerable amount of work for DC, primarily on Nightwing and on Shadowman for Valiant Comics.
