It’s the 1980s, and as Biff proceeds to remake the Hill Valley town square in his image, his personal conflicts with Lorraine McFly and her kids are reaching the boiling point. Meanwhile, the reclusive Emmett Brown is forced into action, revealing to a few trustworthy citizens a secret invention that has the power to stop Biff: a time machine!

The most compelling storyline from the Back to the Future movie franchise is Marty’s journey into an alternate future where his arch-nemesis Biff Tannen has become the wealthiest and luckiest man on the planet; thanks to some time travel trickery by a future older Biff.

If you want the full back story then just watch BTTF 2. In my humble opinion the best of the franchise. This comic gives fans a story that we didn’t know that we wanted. It’s the tale of what happened to the alternate Biff after he received the sports almanac. We watch as Tannen uses the book to quickly amass wealth and power. It’s the backstory to the series’ villain. You can’t help but want to see the film version of this comic after reading it.

Biff is the Forrest Gump of his universe. He is an underachieving idiot that somehow stumbles his way through some of the biggest stories and pop culture happenings of history. Watergate, Marilyn Monroe, Frank Sinatra; on and on- Somehow alternate timeline Biff had a greasy hand in all of it. There is enough story here to make any fan, even a casual fan of the franchise, giggle with glee. Just watching the smarmy Tannen get punched out by John Wayne is alone worth the price of admission.

The art is on point, the story is tight, and it makes you yearn to see this on a screen. All of the character designs are easily identifiable. You know who is who on first glance. The panel and page layout are exceptional and the story moves along at a good clip not getting bogged down in its own details.

If you ever wondered how Biff rose to prominence and became the Trump-ish figure of his own timeline, then this is a series that you can’t pass up. You find out how he got his start, how he came to power in Hill Valley, and how he wormed his way into the life of Lorraine McFly. This comic was wonderful in every way; and one of the best titles based on an existing intellectual property to be released this year.
