Natalia “Natasha” Alianovna Romanova, also known as Natasha Romanoff) and her appointed successor, Captain Yelena Belova. Yelena Belova, a young woman who is the second Black Widow, had also been trained at the Red Room. On a government assignment in Rhapastan, Natasha confronted a far different legacy of her past: Yelena Belova, a young woman desperate to prove herself Natasha’s better as the new Black Widow. Loathe to see another manipulated as she had been for so long, Natasha arranged for her successor and herself to temporarily swap identities so that Yelena, as Natasha, could hear how her superiors considered her an expendable pawn.
