Description

Rogue and Gambit have had one of the longest (and more turbulent) relationships in all of X-Men history. (Kind of hard to beat Cyclops and Jean.) This rare poster is by artist Jim Balent! Rogue and Gambit were immediately attracted to each other, but the development of their relationship was slow and rocky, partly as a result of her inability to control her powers and partly as a result of long-term issues, including secrecy and dishonesty, with previous relationships on Gambit’s part. Rogue learned that she had inherited a mansion in New Orleans from Destiny, as well as a sizable fortune, and the X-Treme X-Men team retired there to recuperate. Rogue soon left the team with Gambit, since they both emerged powerless from their ordeals and wanted to explore their relationship further. As of this writing Rogue has joined the Uncanny Avengers, with Gambit set to join All-New X-Factor so the final chapter in their relationship has yet to be written…

Jim Balent is an American comic book illustrator from Pennsylvania. He is perhaps best known for his long run on Catwoman between 1993 and 1999. Balent has also drawn Batman and Lobo for DC Comics, as well as some of the issues of Purgatori for the independent comic publisher Chaos! Comics. In 1999, he left mainstream comics to form his own company, BroadSword Comics, which publishes Tarot: Witch of the Black Rose. Balent writes and draws Tarot himself. In an interview with comic book website, Project Fanboy, Balent spoke of his interest in both entertaining as well as educating his readers about the folklore and actual theology of Wicca and witchcraft with interviews with leading witch authors and spells from witches around the world. The main characters of the series are often nude.
