Carol Danvers has fought for years as Ms. Marvel, taking her inspiration and name from the Kree hero Mar-Vell, known to most of Earth as Captain Marvel. But with the former super villain Norman Osborn rising to power and taking control of the Avengers, Danvers is forbidden not only from wearing her costume but from even using the name Ms. Marvel.

The devious Osborn has taken steps to replace Danvers, turning to none other than Dr. Karla Sofen – better known as the super villain-cum-Thunderbolt Moonstone!

The Marvels is a film based on Marvel Comics featuring the characters Carol Danvers / Captain Marvel, Monica Rambeau, and Kamala Khan / Ms. Marvel. It is intended to be the sequel to the film Captain Marvel (2019), a continuation of the television miniseries Ms. Marvel (2022), and the 33rd film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

It stars Brie Larson as Carol Danvers, Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau, and Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan, alongside Samuel L. Jackson, Zawe Ashton, and Park Seo-joon. In the film, Danvers, Rambeau, and Khan begin swapping places with each other every time they use their powers and must team-up.

Sana Takeda (born 1977) is a Japanese illustrator and comic book artist known for her work on the Hugo Award winning series Monstress.

Takeda was born in Niigata, and now resides in Tokyo, Japan. At age 20 Takeda started working as a 3D CGI designer for Sega, creating pictures of soccer and NBA athletes. She became a freelance artist when she was 25. After sending her portfolio to C. B. Cebulski, she began working on several projects for Marvel, including X-Men, Venom, Civil War II and Ms. Marvel. In 2006-2008 she worked with C. B. Cebulski on their creator-owned series Drain. In 2010 she started to work with Marjorie Liu on X-23 for Marvel Comics and in 2013 the two started to work on their creator-owned series Monstress.
