IDW’s Revolution storyline has been a blast so far, bringing together the likes of Action Man G.I. Joe, Micronauts, Rom, M.A.S.K., and Transformers. This one-shot takes place before the events of Revolution #3, and features the Autobot Windblade taking a look into the mind of a titan named Metrotitan. The story is surprisingly great, as it starts out as a mystery to why Metrotitan isn’t talking to the Autobots. The story does lead to some interesting plot points, and manages to lead into a conflict going on in the Microverse. The writing is quite amazing, and gets us in the head of Windblade. I actually felt sad reading this issue, because of what she had to go through to get where she is. The character interactions are handled well, and some characters shine among others in the story. Pacing wise, it flowed very well, and kept me enthralled throughout the title. The ending does add some tension between Windblade an another character, but I won’t spoil that.

The artwork has an anime style to it, and it’s impressive. It reminds me of watching a stylized 90’s anime with Transformers and Micronauts. Characters are drawn exceptionally well, and captures the overall tone of the story. The environments are superb, and the one-page spread of Windblade’s past was awesome. Showing the different aspects of her life, before pulling her back to the present was quite haunting. The colors by Dai-Xt, makes the artwork shine, and has that nostalgic feeling of old anime in a few panels.

Transformers: Till All Are One: Revolution #1 is an incredible issue for a one-off that links back to the “Revolution” storyline, and fills in some information about what is going on with the Microverse.
